Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a complex mental health disorder that can affect a child attention span and level of activity. It can have a major impact on the child’s success in school, on their outlook on life and their interpersonal relationships.
About half of children and teens with ADHD are known to have other associated conditions such as learning disabilities. Therefore it is almost impossible to treat ADHD as an isolated disorder.
Stemming from my personal experiences, I decided to share a few things I know about ADHD and related conditions. I hope it will encourage and support families with “special needs” children, teens and adults, and I hope it can create more awareness about the condition.
